unika:k has existed since 2012. From the beginning, we have had a great love for handmade ceramics with personality and history. We hand-pick ceramics from selected artists whom we know personally – a relationship we greatly value.

Our Love for Handmade Ceramics

We have loved handmade ceramics and other handcrafted items with a story for as long as we can remember. For us, it is something truly special that you can see traces of the handmade process on the item/ceramic. This could, for example, be rings in the ceramic from the potter's wheel. It testifies that there is a person behind it. We have long lived by the motto 'less is more'. As often as possible, we would rather buy one good item (instead of, for example, getting 4 cheaper ones for the same price). Because we know that we will be happier with that one quality purchase, and it will therefore last longer, and we avoid the 'throw-away' culture. And that is also the philosophy behind the items we have in the webshop. Everything is handmade and therefore more expensive, of course. But we support the craftsmanship and the people behind it who spend a long time on each individual item.

Craftsmanship with Care and History

At unika:k, you will exclusively find ceramics that are handmade with care and soul by the most skilled ceramists – both Danish and international. They are driven by the craft itself. Innovation, high quality, and beautiful design are top priorities in their work. We love that. In fact, it's pure love. And it has been ever since the first handmade cup was purchased from a ceramist in Rønne. Since then, many more have joined. Quite a lot, actually... But true love lasts, and over the years, we (unika:k) have only been confirmed that this also applies to our love for originality, care, sustainability, and personality in the ceramics we have.

Coffee and tea just taste better in a beautiful cup. The cup deserves to be appreciated, as the cup is with us every day at work and at home. Why we choose handmade

We value knowing the story behind the cup, bowl, vase, etc., which gives the ceramics a very special value in the home. A cup is not just a cup! We all have a cup in our hand several times every day. The joy of holding a unique cup that speaks to our senses is truly special and provides a fantastic experience during those small, cozy moments throughout the day.
