The potter behind Paper Boat Press is Australian Kylie Johnson, and her title is not only potter, but she is also a poet and has published several books. She combines two of her many talents - handprinting beautiful words, quotes (from famous authors), and her own words and poems - on beautiful, off-white and handmade porcelain. Her messages reach far and are not only known in her home country of Australia, but she also sells her things in the USA and some countries in Europe and now also at unika:ki Denmark
The Christmas stars with Danish words - in a beautiful, warm red color - are only made for unika:k, and are unika:k's first 'own' Christmas collection. The idea is that you can combine 2 or more of the words together, such as shooting star/wish, rice pudding/Christmas Eve, kiss/mistletoe and so on. But the star is also beautiful on its own. There is a fine ribbon in the star (which matches the color), so it is just right to hang on the Christmas tree, on branches, in the window... the possibilities are many
All stars are handmade in her workshop in Brisbane and go through 9 production processes before they are finished.
