Frequently Asked Questions About Our Ceramic Mugs
Handmade cups are created by the ceramist themselves in small series or as unique pieces. Therefore, there will always be small variations in shape and glaze, which gives each cup its own expression and makes it truly unique.
Most handmade cups are dishwasher safe, but we often recommend handwashing them to preserve the glaze and surface for as long as possible. If you wash them in the dishwasher, as we often do ourselves, make sure they are not placed directly against other dishes.
If the cup is definitely not dishwasher safe, it will be stated in the product description. This applies to our cups with gold – for these, we advise against using a dishwasher.
Mugs with handles are good for very hot drinks such as tea and black coffee, while mugs without handles provide a more sensory experience and are often used for coffee with milk, matcha, or smaller drinks. If you're looking for a teacup, we would personally choose one with a handle. However, it's very individual whether one finds it acceptable for the cup to be hot to hold.
A cup with the right shape and weight affects both the temperature and your experience of the coffee break. Many people find that coffee and tea taste better when drunk from a cup that feels right in their hand. Likewise, a beautiful cup helps send signals to the brain that enhance enjoyment.
