The cup is glazed in the middle of the base (outermost part), but not on the 'ring' that 'contacts' the table. This raw surface also prevents the cup from sliding and ensures stability. However, it can happen that when this 'circle\/ring' is unglazed (on the outside), some condensation may form on the table with hot drinks in the cup.
